Filmmaker Karan Johar had been toying with the idea of making a biopic for a while now and it seems like he has finally zeroed down on one.
KJo has announced that he has purchased the rights to make a biopic on the hockey legend Dhyan Chand. Karan posted on one of the micro blogging sites, "My friends Pooja, Aarti Shetty and I are honoured and proud to have the rights to tell the story of the legendary sportsman # DHYANCHAND."
Ever since, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's name has come in the limelight. After successfully portraying a role of a hockey coach in 'Chak De India', the actor has been approached for this one too.
Even though he is yet to give a nod to it, we feel that the actor might step into the role because of his close connection with KJo and the fact that that he has previously portrayed a similar role in 'Chak De India'.
Dhyan Chand was one of the most popular hockey players of India, who went on to bag three gold medals at the Olympics and was known as 'The Wizard' due to his excellent sportsmanship.
