Zarine Khan got a dream debut opportunity opposite Salman Khan in the film ‘Veer’. But unfortunately the dream turned out to be a nightmare when the mega budget film tanked at the box office. 

The film's failure was a setback for debutant Zarine Khan who went into the hiding post its poor run at the box office. But it was her debut film co-star Salman Khan who helped her revive, her the then down trotted career and got the right amount of attention when he roped her in for a raunchy item number in the film 'Ready'. 

The peppy track "Character Dheela" made her an overnight star and got her the due recognition.  Now that she is gearing up for the release of her forthcoming film 'Houefull 2', Zarine revealed that why despite of Charatcer Dheela's success she stayed away from item numbers. "Had I done one or two more numbers, I would have been tagged as an ‘Item girl’. I consciously stayed away from those numbers", said Zarine. 

Well we must say that was quite a smart move Zarine, as refusing the lucrative offers is certainly not a cake walk.
