Neeraj Pathak's directorial 'Bhaiaji Superhittt' starring an ensemble cast of Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Arshad Warsi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Pankaj Tripathi and Shreyas Talpade has been in the making for almost a decade, but its mediocrity can hardly be blamed on the delay. No doubt the film adds to list of disastrous films of Deol in recent times. This dated film suffers from lazy and inconsistent execution, bad writing and unfunny moments. At the box office, it is bound to flop.

The film's story revolves around Lal Bhaisahab Dubey(Sunny Deol), typical UP don based in Varanasi who truly loves his wife Sapna Dubey (Preity Zinta), but she is temperamental as hell. She leaves him in a fit of jealousy and to woo her back; hence, he hires a cunning, name-dropping director Goldie Kapoor and a Bengali writer Tarun Porno Ghosh (Shreyas Talpade) to make a film on his life. Mallika (Ameesha Patel), an actress with the heart of a golddigger is hired to play Sapna's role, while a lookalike Funny (Sunny Deol in a double role) is hired to play Bhaiaji. Jaideep Ahlawat plays a rival don called Helicopter Mishra who wants to usurp Bhaiji and take his place. He acts as a fly in the ointment but all ends well as Bhaiaji uses his superhero-like strength to set things right.

Mukul Dev is playing one of Sunny's supporters but after the first 15 minutes, he is nowhere to be seen. Pankaj Tripathi is there too and just like Mukul Dev he is totally wasted. The case is similar with Shreyas Talpade who looked like a forced add on. This is particularly in the case of Preity Zinta, her character had a lot of scope but is let down by the apology of a script. Performance-wise, she's fine and same goes for Arshad Warsi. He's the only one who raises genuine laughs. Sunny overall does fine as always but to see him do back-to-back disasters like 'Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se', 'Mohalla Assi' and now 'Bhaiaji Superhittt' would surely be a big blow for the fans. Ameesha Patel proves she can still soar the temperatures and just requires the right kind of films. Shreyas Talpade is over the top. Jaideep Ahlawat genuinely tries to do a good job but again, there's nothing much he can do when the film itself is so bad. Brijendra Kala is decent while Hemant Pandey (the guy who turns Charsi Bhai just for one scene), Amit Mistry, Mukul Dev, Pankaj Tripathi are all wasted.

Surprisingly, the characters are well thought of and had a lot of potential. Film's climax sequence will make it to the list of trashy scenes list! The film tries hard to be one of those David Dhawan types but ends up too stretched. The songs of the film are embedded in unnecessary places in the context of the film's narrative and it makes the film even more stretched.

Neeraj Pathak's screenplay breaks continuity at many places and there is are a lot of jumps in the scenes written off so badly. Things could have been simple and interesting but that's not the case. Also, too many characters are forced to put in and some of them could have been chopped off. Cinematography by Vishnu Rao and Kabir l Lal is below average. Sandeep Francis editing is wayward and scattered.

Overall, Bhaiaji Superhittt doesn't stay true to its genre and definitely avoid it as its not a silver screen watch.
