The blue-eyed lady, the one with a cute smile, Meg Ryan turns 49 today! Born Margaret Emily Anne Hyra, on November 19, 1961, she is professionally known as Meg Ryan, she began her acting career in 1981 in minor roles.

Ryan was born in Fairfield, Connecticut, USA, to Susan Jordan and Harry Hyra. Her mother supported and encouraged her to study acting. Meg Ryan graduated from Bethel high school in June 1979. Moving to New York, she attended New York University where she majored in journalism. In 1981, she made her big screen debut as Candice Bergen's daughter in George Cukor's last film Rich and Famous. She was also seen in few television soaps like As the World Turns (1982-1984) and Wildside (1985).

Ryan married actor Dennis Quaid on Valentine's Day 1991. She has a son Jack Henry with Quaid. In January 2006, she adopted a 14 months old girl from China named Dairy True. Though almost at her 50s, her smile is as cute and as charming as ever.
