Sushant Singh Rajput and debutante Sara Ali Khan starrer 'Kedarnath' directed by Abhishek Kapoor will not be backed by KriArj Entertainment. The production house seems to have financial and creative differences along with the director. One of the sources close to the team suggests that Prernaa is unhappy with the fact that the film will be clashing with Shah Rukh Khan's 'Zero' on December 21, 2018. While some say that Abhishek Kapoor himself revealed that due to lack of transparency and faulty payments, he decided to cut off his collaboration with KriArj Entertainment. Earlier, the director also had a major spat with Farhan Akhtar, Excel Productions, veteran superstar Rekha and filmmaker Apoorva Lakhia among others.
One of the leads close to the maker says, ''Deciding a film's release date should be the producer's call since they are the one's investing huge sums into the project. However, Abhishek interfered in that as well and went on to announce a release date on Twitter without consulting KriArj Entertainment who were against releasing the film on the same date as Zero.''
As per announced by Abhishek Kapoor, the film is set to release on December 21, 2018 and the withdrawal of KriArj Entertainment would not affect the release date of the film. Kedarnath is a love story that revolves around the tragic 2013 Uttarakhand floods.
