R. Balki directed 'Padman' featuring Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor rapidly steers on the box office after its Sunday collection. The film rakes ₹10.26 cr on its opening day followed by 35% growth leading the numbers at ₹13.68 cr on Saturday and ₹16.11 cr on Sunday reaching the 40 crores mark in quick time. The film bravely showcases women's never talked about menstrual issues and is been loved by the audiences.
Well, strong word of mouth publicity is a major factor in the rise of Padman's box office collection. Padman enjoyed healthy box-office collection from its opening week and is predicted to stay strong. However, its business might slow down a bit after next week Neeraj Pandey release 'Aiyaary'.
Moreover, Aiyaary was set to clash with Akshay Kumar's Padman but as its censor certification got delayed, the film's release date got postponed by a week.
The film is based on the real Padman of India, Mr Arunachalam Muruganantham, who was felicitated with the prestigious Padma Shri award after inventing low-cost sanitary napkin making machines. The film gives a befitting reply to all the taboos revolving around women's menstrual hygiene and it ends up with a message saying 'Women strong, Country Strong'.
