The year 2018 has ended in style with the entertainer of the year helmed by Rohit Shetty featuring Ranveer Singh as Sangram Bhalerao in 'Simmba'. Appreciated by the masses but more importantly, it can be tagged as a blockbuster as it entered the 100 cr in just six days.
The film has slammed Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Zero' that could barely cross the 100 cr mark in the Indian circuit and the reason is 'Simmba' roaring all the way at the box-office. As per Box-office India, the film stands at Rs. 123.75 crore till date with Friday collections of Rs. 20.50 crore, Saturday earnings of Rs. 23.75 crore, Rs. 31 crore coming in on Sunday, Rs. 21.5 crore earning on Monday and Rs. 26 crore on Tuesday.
Even in the overseas circuit the film has been a whopping hit and raked a sum of 39.85 cr. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures and wrote, "Like I pointed out yesterday, #Simmba is Rohit Shetty's eighth film to cross ₹ 100 cr mark... Rohit holds the record for maximum films in ₹ 100 cr Club... Indeed, Rohit is making the audience laugh in theatres and his distributors laugh all the way to the bank!"
The film also stars Sara Ali Khan as Ranveer's love interest and Sonu Sood as the antagonist.
