Stay order on Raveena Tandon's 'Maatr'

3rd April 2017

Raveena Tandon's comeback film 'Maatr' has now landed into legal trouble. The High Court has granted a stay on the film's release as Anjum Rizvi, the producer of the film is yet to settle down some dues to YT Capital Pvt Ltd. Justice Gautam Patel came out with the decision of the stay order on the film and has even informed that the film should not be released in any part of the world and the negative copies should not be circulated either.

Meanwhile this is not the first time court has issued stay order on Anjum's films. 'A Wednesday', 'Ahista Ahista' and 'Charges: A Joint Effort' were some of the many films which were banned earlier from releasing. In the previously filed case by YT Capital, Rs. 2 crores payment was demanded for the never released film 'Katha' but Rizvi specified that the YT capital will enjoy all the rights on his past as well as future releasing films.

The case will now be heard on April 10, 2017 as no one appeared by the side of Rizvi in the recently filed application.
