50 Cent to release bullying book

20th June 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - 50 Cent has revealed he is releasing a new novel about bullying.

The hip-hop star, who has previously penned books about his life story, intends to help teenagers with his semi-autobiographical tome, called Playground. The novel is written in the first person and will tell the story of a 13-year-old school bully "who finds redemption as he faces what he's done".

"I had a strong desire to write Playground because I wanted to explore how a kid becomes a bully," 50 said in a statement. "I drew on events from my own childhood and adolescence, but was excited to see the story take on its own life. This book would have been very helpful for me growing up and now that I have a teenage son, it is my goal that this will have a positive influence on all teenagers."

Playground is scheduled to be released in January 2012.

50's previous books include the 2005 best-seller From Pieces to Weight, which followed his life as a street drug dealer and his rise to fame. He also co-wrote The 50th Law a tome released in 2008 about the rules of having no fear in the pursuit of success. (C) Cover Media
