It seems like music maestro A.R. Rahman’s good luck is rubbing off on to Prateik too.The young actor has apparently been reluctant to part ways with the maestro's trophy stating that the trophy has become his good luck charm.
During "Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na" Prateik had gone on to win a number of Best Newcomer awards. But since Rahman wasn’t present at the award functions to receive his own trophies, and Aamir doesn’t attend award functions on principle, Prateik ended up collecting all their trophies.
“Later, of course, he handed them over to the rightful winners. Though, he didn’t manage to give Rahman one of his awards, because they didn’t meet after the film released,” says the insider from the entourage.
On Wednesday, when the "Dhobi Ghat" actor met Rahman at the Taj Mahal, Agra, for the music release function of "Ekk Deewana Tha", he was carrying the trophy with him. But even before Prateik handed over the trophy to Rahman, the actor told the maestro that his trophy was a good luck charm, as things had been going really well for him ever since it came into his possession.
“Rahman then said that Prateik could keep it,” reveals the insider. When contacted, Prateik — who plays the male lead opposite British model-actor Amy Jackson in the film — says, “I feel extremely blessed to work in a film, which features the work of a maestro like Rahman. I have learnt so much from him, and he is really an inspiration.”
