It's time to pay tribute to "The First Superstar Of Indian Cinema", the legend, the one and only iconic actor of Indian Cinema, Rajesh Khanna on the occasion of his 73rd birth anniversary today 29th December 2015.
The legendary actor Rajesh Khanna made his bollywood debut with the 1966 film 'Aakhri Khat' and instantly received recognition and critical praise for his performance in the film.
Although the actor was lauded for his debut role in 1966, he got his first big break with the 1969 film 'Aradhana'. This film proved to be the turning point in his career as the film proved to be the start of a string of 15 consecutive hits for the actor from the period of 1969 to 1971.
Post his first big break with 'Aradhana', the immensely versatile and budding actor went on to star in back to back hits like 'Safar', 'Kati Patang', 'Anand', 'Aan Milo Sajna', 'Andaz' and 'Haathi Mere Saathi' from 1969 to 1971 which is still an unsurpassable task for any actor of today's generation.
Rajesh Khanna is renowned in the bollywood fraternity for playing a wide variety of roles, his unmatchable acting prowess and also for the numerous memorable and melodious songs from his hit films.
Having said so much, it's pretty obvious that the heavyweight actor has won several awards in his illustrious career. He has won three Filmfare Awards for best actor category, apart from this he has also received a Filmfare Special Award in 1991.
Besides this, Khanna has received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his career defining work and also India's third highest civilian award, The Padma Bhushan by the Indian Government.
There is simply no doubt that Rajesh Khanna was one of the most talented, gifted, versatile and powerful performers of our times. He didn't achieve the status of "The First Superstar Of Indian Cinema" for no reason.
Though the legend sadly is no longer with us now, he still left behind a lasting impact on the film industry and a legacy which is almost untouchable, unmatchable and unsurpassable for generations to come.
