Risk En Route- Take it, or leave it!

Hollywood has churned out enough number of thrillers which speak about a group of ordinary people in an extraordinary situation. Toeing in the line is Abhayam directed by Krishnavamsi, which is being served by Tollywood to Kollywood.

Sathya (Naresh), Abhishek (Ali), Karthik (Sairam), Lakshmi (Swathi) and Sherin (Radhika) are close friends. As Lakshmi is getting married soon, the friends decide to go out to celebrate their best friend's wedding. En route, the vehicle in which they go meets with a mishap, that too with a police jeep. Well, here we throw more light on the story. The five manage to escape from the cops, but they are caught in the hands of a wicked politician, as they witness an evil act by him.

Now, this powerful politician, who aspires to become the Chief Minister of the State, is behind them and even the police is looking for them. How these five friends manage to escape from these tough hands is the crux of Abhayam.

Now it is a cat and mouse game between these people. Who emerges winner at the end forms the rest of Abhayam, which, as the title suggests is thrilling and at the same time cliched.

The lead actors have done a good job. Naresh is good as a carefree youngster, while Ali and Sairam are okay. The leading ladies Sherin and Swathi (of Subramanyapuram fame) are beautiful and fit well to their respective roles.

No doubt that Krishnavamsi has zeroed in on a powerful story. But the way he developed it into a script and the manner in which he executed it spoil the show. On the whole, Abhayam can be enjoyed in parts, if not in whole.
