Director Naga Venkatesh is ready with the release of Agarathi, a crime-thriller based on a novel by ace writer Rajesh Kumar. The movie features Pradeep, Pawan, Monicka, Oviya, Keerthy Chawla and Archana in the lead roles. Sathyan plays the comedian.

Says the director, 'I have taken the story from a popular novel by Rajesh Kumar and rewritten the script to suit contemporary audience. I am a great fan of his stories as they are loaded with thrills and suspense'.

A series of murder takes place in a city. How the killer is tracked forms the crux, he adds.

Oviya was assigned to do the movie even before Kalavani happened. She plays a cute role. Also Monicka, Keerthy Chawla and ARachana have equal screen space, says Naga Venkatesh.  

The movie has cinematography by M Sivakumar, while lyrics are by Valee, Thamarai, Annamalai and Kavivarman. The movie that has music by Sundar C Babu has been censored with U certificate and ready for release this month.
