Ajay pressurized to postpone SOS release

26th October 2012

It has been long in news that Ajay Devgn's 'Son Of Sardaar' (SOS) and Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' (JTHJ) will be releasing on the same day, that is on the auspicious day of Diwali, Novemeber 13.

However, the demise of veteran director Yash Chopra, who's last directorial film was JTHJ has come as a shock to all and now people from the industry are pressurizing Ajay Devgn to postpone the release of his film as a mark of respect to late Yash Chopra.

Ajay, however, is in a fix as he is not the only person in command to make this decision. His film is being co-produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, while Eros International is its worldwide distributor.

While everyone included in the decision making holds great respect for Yashji, changing the dates will not only affect SOS, but also other films that are releasing after it.

According to sources, if SOS pushes the release date, Aamir Khan's 'Talaash', Akshay Kumar's 'Khiladi 786' and Salman Khan's 'Dabangg 2' will also have to bring in changes to their release dates to give SOS a clear 15 day window at the box office.

Also, in most cases, the release date of a film is determined months in advance, keeping many factors in mind. And as far as SOS is concerned, the release date was decided a year in advance.

Hence, in the overall interest of the industry, 'Son Of Sardaar' will still be releasing on November 13.
