'Mankatha' is Ajith's 50th film. Trisha is paired opposite him. Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing the music for this film which is being directed by Venkat Prabhu. The song “Vilayaadu Mankatha” was released and has become a great hit.

Ajith, while speaking about this film said, “I am very happy that I am once again joining hands with Yuvan Shankar Raja. Yuvan has earlier composed music for my films like 'Dheena' and 'Billa'. He has done some wonderful songs in those films. I am confident that he has composed songs for this film that fulfill my fans expectations. I happily participated in the shooting of 'Mankatha' every day. Venkat Prabhu is a very dedicated talented director. Producer Arulnidhi was very supportive during the shooting. This is my 50th film. At this juncture, I want to thank my earlier producers, directors, actors and actresses who have shared the screen with me, music composers, technicians, distributors and the media. I am also grateful to my family members and my real fans. Without you all people, I would not exist in cinema.”
