Alec Baldwin joins comedy reunion

20th May 2011

(Cover) - EN Movies - Alec Baldwin will join Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg in their comedy reunion.

The Hollywood actor will join the pair as Mark's characters father in the tentatively named Three Mississippi, which was previously titled Turkey Bowl.

Three Mississippi follows two men from football-obsessed towns who lead rival teams in an annual Thanksgiving tackle football game.

It was previously revealed that the comedy would be heavily laden with cameo appearances echoing the format of Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy which followed two rival broadcaster gangs who were at constant loggerheads.

Adam McKay, who is producing the picture, has revealed that the film was originally in mind for a reunion with Mark and Alec anyway, after the pair showed great comic chemistry in The Departed.

"The idea was originally conceived for Mark Wahlberg and Alec Baldwin. Owen Burke, who's a producer at Gary Sanchez, and I were talking about how crazily funny Wahlberg and Baldwin were in The Departed how, even though it's not a comedy, we could just watch them all day long. Burke dropped this idea, and I was like, Oh my God, that's a movie!' Then Will heard it and he wanted in," he explained.

Other rumoured cameos include Rob Riggle as a gay cousin and Jeremy Renner to play an ex-con. (C) Cover Media
