(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Amanda Bynes is now officially facing charges of driving under the influence.

The actress was arrested back in April after she sideswiped a police car and allegedly tried to leave the scene.

TMZ reports that Hollywood starlet has been charged with one count of misdemeanour DUI. She will not face a hit and run charge for this incident.

The District Attorney is reportedly seeking a sentencing enhancement because Amanda refused to take a blood test or submit to a breathalyser.

Amanda faces a maximum of six months in jail if convicted but because of jail overcrowding she would probably only be behind bars for a few hours.

The 26-year-old Easy A star was also accused of a couple other hit-and-run incidents recently which she has denied.

"I can't help but laugh at all of you writing fake stories about me. I was not in any hit and runs," Amanda wrote last month. "I don't drink so the DUI is false." (C) Cover Media
