(Cover) - EN Showbiz - America Ferrera is desperate to make an Ugly Betty movie.

The actress plays dowdy fashion magazine employee Betty Suarez in the hit US show. The fourth and final season of the programme aired in America earlier this year but there have been repeated rumours a film will be made.

Ana Ortiz, who plays Betty’s sister Hilda, says she and America are extremely excited at the prospect of being on the big screen, and have decided to do whatever it takes to ensure the Ugly Betty movie gets made.

"There's nothing concrete yet, it's just America and I talking about it, hoping to bring it into existence," Ana told PA. "When America puts her mind to something it usually happens. But I think everybody needs to be able to look at it with a fresh eye, with a fresh heart and then tackle it."

Ana is extremely proud of the last season of Ugly Betty. She is pleased the cast and crew went out on a high, and thinks it leaves “infinite possibilities” for a movie.

"This season is definitely our best so I'm really proud we ended on a really high note but it's open enough for there to be a movie which would be really good," Ana said.

"The season definitely ended really beautifully and in a really nice Betty way. There's no cliffhanger, nobody was left unsatisfied, it is all tied up but it's definitely open to an infinite amount of possibilities in everybody's life." (C) Cover Media
