(Cover) - EN Showbiz - An inquest into Amy Winehouse's death been opened and adjourned in London.
The troubled British singer died on Saturday aged 27. She was discovered in bed at her home in Camden, North London, by a member of her security team.
At the moment her death is being treated as unexplained by police, with a post-mortem taking place in London. The results are not expected for some time, with the toxicology report one of the last to come through.
The inquest at St. Pancras Coroner's Court was opened at around 2.30pm today by coroner Suzanne Greenaway, and it was announced that no cause of death has been found. Sky news sources claim there are no suspicious circumstances around her death.
The inquest was immediately adjourned and will begin again in about 12 weeks. It was opened so Amy's body can be released to her family, who are keen to hold her funeral as soon as possible in keeping with Jewish tradition. It's thought the ceremony may even be held tomorrow.
At the inquest Amy's full name Amy Jade Winehouse date of birth and address were all read out.
It was not known whether Amy's family were present at the time of writing.
Earlier today Amy's father Mitch, mother Janis, brother Alex and on/off boyfriend Reg Traviss went to her Camden home. Fans of the singer have built a shrine there, comprising of pictures, candles, hand-written notes and flowers. The group spent time looking at everything that had been laid out, with Mitch telling onlookers the outpouring of love for Amy was helping the family cope.
Amy battled drug and alcohol addictions for many years. She spent time in rehab, most recently checking into The Priory clinic this year for a week before her European tour. The series of shows was called off after just one performance as Amy stumbled around the stage and appeared to forget the lyrics to her songs.
Over the weekend it was claimed she had bought drugs in Camden on Friday night, with reports she's purchased heroin, ecstasy, cocaine and ketamine. It's now been suggested no drug paraphernalia was found with Amy's body, and she may have passed away after a drinking binge. (C) Cover Media
