Bollywood actress Rati Agnihotri who nowadays is spotted only at events and award functions has been booked with an FIR for tampering her electricity meter. An FIR is lodged in the name of the actress and her husband Anil Virwani for not paying electricity bills for 1,77,647 units of electricity amounted to Rs. 48 lakhs.

According to reports a spokesperson from the Electricity board says, "Our vigilance officers carried out a surprise raid and in it we found that the meter was tampered. We calculated the total value of electricity stolen by the family and have billed them around Rs 48,96,000 and have also registered an offence under Section 135 (theft of electricity) of the Indian Electricity Act, 2003."

He continued, "We have registered an offence as per the complaint given by BEST authorities and will investigate the matter."

While on the other hand Rati's husband Anil denies all the happenings by saying that none of their family members are in the city and they are unaware of such things.
