(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Angelina Jolie insists only one person has a gripe with her directorial debut.

The actress has been publicly criticised over the as-yet-unnamed movie, which is about the love between a Serbian man and Bosnian woman shortly before the Bosnian war breaks out.

There has been an outcry about the storyline, after it was claimed it involved a Bosnian rape victim falling in love with her Serbian captor. This week, objectors wrote to the United Nations saying Angelina should not longer be allowed to be a goodwill ambassador. Angelina has previously asked people not to judge until they had seen the release, and has now spoken about the controversy.

There's one person who has a gripe, she said. The absolute majority of the people, population, the cast, prime minister, president have been extremely supportive.

She added 95% of the people who are involved with making the movie lived through the war, which took place between 1992 and 1995 and saw 100,000 people die.

Angelina also penned the screenplay, explaining she took time to discuss it with people from the area. In the end the film became incredibly important to her, as she wanted to give artists from that part of the world... a platform.

There are many twists in the plot [of the movie] that address the sensitive nature of the relationship between the main characters, she added. (C) Cover Media
