(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Emily Blunt has a martini before red carpet events, to take the edge off.

The Hollywood star always looks glamorous when she attends industry parties and premieres, but admits the thought of them makes her anxious. She knows her hair, make-up and clothes will be studied by people all over the globe, and the thought terrifies her.

With that in mind, she has a novel way to ensure she always appears relaxed.

I used to look like a deer in headlights on the red carpet. You step out of the car and it's bedlam. Everyone's got crazy eyes, she explained to Harpers Bazaar. Now, I have a martini before I leave - just to take the edge off it.

Emily loves her job, but still has a hard time dealing with how false some people in the industry can be. The 27-year-old used to take people at face value, but has learnt thats not always best when it comes to Hollywood.

The business is all about gush and hype. You never have a bad meeting in LA. They always say, 'You're amazing, you're so funny, she explained. You always walk out going, 'I nailed that part,' but they're probably saying behind your back, 'She's definitely not right...'

Emily stays grounded thanks to her family and her husband John Krasinski, who she wed earlier this year. She insists they have an average life despite being famous, although she rarely talks about him.

The star dated singer Michael Bubl before meeting John, and regrets how open she was about her feelings for him.

It's why I don't ever talk about John. When you're in love, you're so happy that you want to tell people about it," she explained. "But now I have to censor myself. You need to protect the happiness you have." (C) Cover Media
