(Cover) - EN Movies - Angelina Jolie is thrilled to have landed a distributor for her directorial debut as she cant wait for audiences to see the movie.
The 35-year-old actress is director of In the Land of Blood and Honey, which gained a US distributor yesterday during the Cannes International Film Festival.
According to Deadline, the movie will appear in US cinemas on December 23 this year, and will be distributed by FilmDistrict.
The movie is a romance set during the Bosnian War, which took place between 1992 and 1995. Angelina doesnt star in the film, with roles instead going to local citizens, many of whom grew up during the war.
"I wanted to tell a story of how human relationships and behaviour are deeply affected by living inside a war, the actress said in a statement.
"The former Yugoslavia has a rich history of dramatic arts. The cast was extraordinary.
"I was privileged and honoured to work with them and I am very excited for everyone to see their immense talent."
The film, whose stars include Zana Marjanovic and Goran Kosti, was filmed in English as well as Serbo-Croatian, although FilmDistrict will be releasing the English version. Angelina revealed that she only came up with the films title at the last minute.
"[Its] driving me crazy. I have lists and lists of titles all over," she told Entertainment Weekly. (C) Cover Media
