(Cover) - EN Movies - Anjelica Huston thought her Horrid Henry character was "irresistible".
The 60-year-old Hollywood star appears in upcoming comedy Horrid Henry: The Movie, which is scheduled for release later this month.
The British movie is based on the hugely successful children's books of the same name, and Anjelica portrays whining teacher Miss Battle-Axe. Despite the character's moaning, Anjelica found her charming.
"It's very British material to me, and I've always been strangely attracted to these extreme characters, like Miss Battle-Axe. I found her irresistible!" she confessed in an interview with guardian.co.uk.
"I hadn't seen the cartoon or the book, which I hear is second in popularity in Britain to Harry Potter. I guess you have to have a few seven-year-old children to really appreciate that."
The movie features performances from plenty of young stars, including Theo Stevenson in the title role. Anjelica couldn't help but comment on a difference between child actors in the UK and their American counterparts.
"Most of my scenes were with Theo Stevenson [the titular bad boy], but English kids are so polite and enthusiastic, and not blas," she smiled.
"I did that movie Daddy Day Care, with a bunch of five- and six-year-old American kids, and they were so sophisticated and scarily together compared with this group, who were sweet and happy and enthusiastic. The script was very charming, I liked the director, and it felt like a good idea to go and play in London for a while." (C) Cover Media
