According to sources available the Kapali theatre that is four decades old the first Cinerama theatre in Asia will be razed to six screens mall in a short while from now. According to Dr Ramachandre Gowda who is head of the theatre with two other brothers it requires Rs.200 crores to bring up six screens at this prestigious place. The land value at this prime spot is Rs.160 crores. How to raise the funds for Gowda is the question in the mind. He has a joint family in the house and getting a Mall with six screens is not an impossible task. Is there any takers for Kapali theatre? Dr Gowda is not interested in such move. He wants to retain the control.
