Deepak Dobriyal's emergence as an actor from theatre to films

Deepak Dobriyal, who started his career as an theatre artist soon gained recognition as an Bollywood actor right from his first film. While doing theatre he bagged small roles in films. He worked in many films like 'Gulaal' (2009), 'Delhi 6' (2009), 'Omkara' (2006), 'Shaurya' (2008) and 'Dabangg 2' (2012). He got his recognition in 'Tanu Weds Manu' (2011) and 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' (2015).

The actor won his first Filmfare Special award for the film 'Omkara' where he played the character of Rajoh Tiwari.

The fact that clean humour and good comedy reign over "meaningless" entertainers has sustained over the years and Deepak's name was counted in one of the most entertaing comic actors after he won the Star Guild Award for Best actor in a comic role for his role as Pappi in 'Tanu Weds Manu.' The comic timing of the actor was appreciated and he ended up winning this award.

Pappi's comedy continued when the makers came with the second installment of the film, 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' didn't have any challenging role for him but still he was able to win the hearts of the audience and went to win the Most Entertaining Actor in a Comedy Role (Male) award for the film.

The actor was also nominated in the category of Star Guild Award for Best Actor in a Negative Role for his role as Rajendar Bhati in the film 'Gulaal' where Deepak experimented his acting skills by playing a negative character. He also received nomination at IIFA Award for Best Performance in a Comic Role for his film 'Tanu weds Manu.'

His emergence as an actor from theatre to films is phenomenal people now recognise him as an complete established actor.
