Arnold Schwarzenegger postpones acting comeback

20th May 2011

(Cover) - EN Movies - Arnold Schwarzenegger has decided to put his acting career on hold to focus on "personal matters".

Earlier this month former Governor of California Arnold and his journalist wife Maria Shriver announced they had called time on their 25-year marriage, with Arnold then confessing this week that he had fathered a child with another woman during their marriage.

The scandal has sent shockwaves through Hollywood, with US publications revealing the identity of Arnold's mistress. The star had been planning a revival of his acting career, but has decided such a move is no longer appropriate. Patrick Knapp, entertainment counsel to Arnold, explained the decision in a statement yesterday.

"At the request of Arnold Schwarzenegger we asked Creative Artists Agency to inform all his motion picture projects currently underway or being negotiated to stop planning until further notice," he said.

"Governor Schwarzenegger is focusing on personal matters and is not willing to commit to any production schedules or timelines.

"This includes Cry Macho, The Terminator franchise and other projects under consideration. We will resume discussions when Governor Schwarzenegger decides."

A representative from Arnold's animated The Governator project has also released a statement to website TMZ explaining that the venture is currently on hold. The spokesperson did not specify whether plans were simply postponed or completely annulled.

"In light of recent events, A Squared Entertainment, POW, Stan Lee Comics, and Archie Comics, have chosen to not go forward with the Governator project," the representative told the publication.

Meanwhile, a picture of star and the woman identified as his mistress and love child has emerged. In one snapshot Arnold has his arms around Mildred Patricia Baena, who is known as Patty, and formally worked as a housekeeper for the Schwarzenegger family, and their son, who is believed to be two in the picture and is thought to be 14 now.
