'Asalam-e-Ishqum' was difficult, says PC

4th February 2014
Doing a period film has never been easy. One has to relate with the times they have never been a part of. Donning the characters, their mannerisms and performing at par expectations is a tough task. But if the talked about artist is Priyanka Chopra, then no task is a hindrance in her way to achieve the desired result.

PC who plays a retro character in her forthcoming film 'Gunday' claims that it was really difficult to shoot for her song 'Asalaam e Ishqum'

Inspired by the famous chic acts of Moulin Rouge cabaret of Paris, the song compelled PC to undergo various strenuous sessions. From donning several outfits like corsets, fishnet stockings, etc. she also had to train with French cabaret dancers for the song.

However, now that the song is finally out, she is happy that it is garnering all sorts of compliments.

"It was really a tough song for me to do. From costumes to dance sequences and all the other stuff, everything was difficult. But I'm glad it's being appreciated," she said.

Film's director Ali Abbas Zafar also revealed another fascinating thing about Priyanka while claiming that she deserves all the appreciation.

He stated that she agreed to shoot for the song within days of her father Ashok Chopra's demise, who we all know she was very close to.

Kudos to PC for putting up a brave face in difficult times too.
