(Cover) - EN Star Style - Ashley Greene has revealed her brother was her style icon growing up.

The 24-year-old beauty who is famed for playing vampire Alice Cullen in the popular Twilight film franchise says that she was a tomboy growing up as she was influenced by her big brother. The star admits that as she became more aware of femininity she felt inferior next to her prettier friends.

I was always trying to be like my older brother, she revealed in the latest issue of InStyle Hair. I got really self-conscious because I had older friends. I thought they were prettier, and they were going through all these life experiences before I was.

The stunning actress has revealed her mom enrolled her in modelling classes to boost her low self-esteem. Ashley says she benefited from being around a more glamorous setting, as it helped to find her confidence.

[They] helped a lot, she admitted.

The stunning brunette has since appeared nude in a bodypainted bikini that ran in the 2010 issue of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition, and is regularly noted as one of Hollywoods most beautiful women. Ashley insists that despite her numerous beauty and style accolades, she hasnt lost her tomboy roots.

I love having my hair and make-up done, but Im really just a 15-minute girl, throwing everything on with no fuss, she said.

The actress has revealed that transforming into her Twilight character Alice, requires two hours in hair and make-up. The star laughed that the hairpiece she dons can make her head look rather strange.

My hair is pretty thick, and we wrap it and put it under a wig, she explained. To get it to fit so I dont look like I have an alien head is a talent in itself. (C) Cover Media
