(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ashton Kutcher is grateful for Charlie Sheen's well wishes regarding Two and a Half Men.
Charlie was famously fired from the hit US TV show earlier this year, after a dispute with producer Chuck Lorre and controversial antics in his private life.
His character Charlie Harper is being killed off, with a funeral scheduled to take place on the first episode of the next season when it hits US screens in September.
Ashton will be starring as internet billionaire Walden Schmidt in the new series, and admits he's been thrilled by Charlie's reaction.
"I don't know him. I've never met him in my life," he explained in a new interview with Details magazine.
"But, you know, he sent me congratulations and wished me well. Via Twitter."
Both Ashton and Charlie are famed for their online presence, keeping fans up-to-date with comical posts on the social-networking site.
Ashton was the first user of the interactive site to have more than 1,000,000 followers, so is ideal for playing an internet tycoon.
He describes his character as "somewhere between an alien and Jesus Christ", and has spoken out about the power of Twitter.
"One person can have just as loud a voice as an entire media corporation," he asserted.
Although the actor has "digital-free days" to ensure he doesn't become obsessed with technology, he does enjoy using his online presence to give fans an insight into his life. Ashton believes that online posts can be a useful way to understand somebody's personality, for better or worse.
"If you're an a*shole offline, you're probably an a*shole online," he laughed. (C) Cover Media
