7th January 2011
Actor Santhanam refuses 'Hero' offers 'I don't want to be a hero as it has loads of responsibilities upon us' says Santhanam, who seems to have refused couple of big offers with good remuneration as well. The actor made his debut into films through Silambarasan's 'Manmadhan' and much prior to that had made a great sensation with his small screen comedy show 'Lollu Sabha'. Says Santhanam: 'Instead of acting in couple of films as a hero, I can act in 5 movies as a comedy actor and earn more money. When acting as a comedian, there are fewer responsibilities. Be it gain or loss, we have nothing to do with it as we do our job properly. But when it comes to hero, we have got to do more. If we are on the epitome of success, it acts as a sure way to bring us down. I love to be always a comedian.'   Navya Nair in small screen Post-marriage option of actresses has been none other than 'Small Screens' as they opt for it. This has been very much evident with the actresses like Simran, Devayani, Ramya Krishnan and many others. Now Navya Nair too joins the same bandwagon as she will soon foray into mega serials. Soon after her marriage, Navya's husband didn't want her to act in films, but somehow has managed to get green signal for small screen. The actress is now holding talks with some of the leading television production companies in Tamil and Malayalam. Soon there will be official announcements on that. Navya Nair from God's own country made her debut in Kollywood with the movie 'Azhagiya Theeye' followed by few movies.   'Aadukalam has a different Madurai' – Vetrimaaran Director Vetrimaaran took a very long time to complete his upcoming film 'Aadukalam'. The filmmaker researched to the core of soil about the customs, tradition and lifestyle of people in Madurai. So what's so special about this film? Is it a 'Pakka' action ground? 'Not at all' says Vetrimaaran as it will have realistic stunt sequences as per the capabilities of a youngster in Madurai. 'We will not see the youngster bashing down 20 men at the same time, but it will have a sort of reality. People in youngsters are known for their short-temperedness carrying sickles at their back. But 'Aadukalam' will disapprove of such assumptions and will throw different lights into the city life' adds Vetrimaaran. Sun Pictures has already started working on promotional campaigns for the film and it will hit screens with more prints on the festive occasion of Pongal.     Thamannnah speaks on 'Siruthai' and 'Siruthai' lover This film is the remake of the Telugu film. It has come out ten times powerful than the Telugu version. They have added lot of interesting factors in the screenplay and have made it beautiful. It has come out extraordinarily well. I am donning the role of an innocent girl who falls in love with Karthi. When asked Thamannah to speak on her lover Karthi, she said, “don't tell like that. Tell that he is Siruthai film lover. There want be a slightest shade of Paiyya in this film. He has changed his looks.” When Karthi was asked to speak up on Thamannah's character in the movie, he said, “She plays the role of a beautiful 'Makku' girl, who is so innocent and believes in whatever is said to her. In fact, I prefer having a wife like her in my real life as well.”
