'Fukrey' fame actor Ali Fazal who also has his Amazon prime original web-series 'Mirzapur' lined up in November has bagged a lead role in Pradeep Sarkar's 'Arranged Marriage'. The acclaimed writer-director has given some strong women characters through his work but now it will be interesting to watch his take on a male-centric film.

His recent film 'Helicopter Eela' didn't make much of an impact and tanked at the box-office. Bagging Ali as the protagonist is an interesting choice and the main character which the ace director has already visualised might suit to the 'Victoria & Abdul' actor.

The film 'Arrange Marriage' is a unique modern day love story set in Kolkata. The film explores relationships among the family members while their involvement during the process of an arranged marriage.

Speaking about the film, Fazal says, "Arranged Marriage is a unique modern day love story set in Kolkata. It's a twisted tale between the couple and has its own complexities that will be beautifully explored by Pradeep sir on a larger canvas. We have just begun filming in Kolkata. It's the modern world, it's 2018, it does touch upon some very essential phases of love, relationships, families that are involved in marriage and how important it is that where what these families come from."

He concluded saying, "It is a privilege to work with a veteran director and writer Pradeep dada who has given such a powerful and meaningful cinema and has worked with some of the best talents of India cinema."
