Avril Lavigne: My album makes me cry

10th March 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Avril Lavigne admits she may never sing her track Goodbye live as it would probably make her cry.

The 26-year-old Canadian songstress is currently promoting her latest album Goodbye Lullaby, which features tracks documenting a difficult period in her life.

Avrils divorce from Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley was finalised last November, and she began working on Goodbye Lullaby in 2009 - shortly before news of the split began to surface.

The singer says one track in particular, called Goodbye, reminds her of the tough time she endured, so she may not be brave enough to perform it live.

Its the most emotional song Ive ever written, she told Access Hollywood. I wrote the song on my own and I produced it, so Im really close to it.

I had a really hard time singing it. Its a really hard thing to sing when youre right about to cry! It was that real. My voice is shaky in it. I dont know if Ill ever sing this song live.

The star feels pleased that she pushed herself creatively and emotionally though, as she thinks it has made for an impressive record. Avril has already been overwhelmed by the warm reception Goodbye Lullaby has received.

The reaction from my friends, people I work with, my family, anyone whos heard the songs [they] cried!

Its like, Wow. When you really go there and have those moments that mean that much and are that real, other people connect with that, she gushed.

Im glad I went for those moments on this album. (C) Cover Media
