(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ben Affleck is "pleased" that his ex-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez is so prosperous.

The 40-year-old actor is currently married to actress Jennifer Garner and the pair share three young children together.

Ben and Jennifer were engaged to be married nearly a decade ago, but called their relationship quits in 2004 after spending two years together.

Both have since moved on, establishing families with other partners, but Ben still has a lot of love for Jennifer.

"We don't have the kind of relationship where she relies on me for advice, but we do have the kind of relationship where there'll be an e-mail saying, 'Oh, your movie looks great,'" Ben told The Hollywood Reporter.

"I remember when she got American Idol. I said: 'This was really smart. Good luck.' I touch base. I respect her. I like her. She's put up with some stuff that was unfair in her life, and I'm really pleased to see her successful."

Ben is really happy in his marriage with Jennifer Garner.

He believes the star is an incredible human being.

"She truly is kind. She means no one any harm," Ben said.

"She doesn't have ill will for any person. She's not competitive with other people. She's not spiteful. It's one of those things where it becomes almost aggravating at times. Every time I go, 'F**k him!' I see in her face that she just thinks that's petty and small." (C) Cover Media
