Ben Affleck: Work is important to me

13th September 2012

Ben Affleck is not at all interested in being "a stay-at-home dad."

The Hollywood star shares three young children Violet, six, Seraphina, three, and Samuel, six months with his wife Jennifer Garner.

Ben will premiere his new dramatic thriller Argo next month, which he stars in and directs, and is constantly involved in other projects.

Although his family life means a lot to him, Ben is not willing to neglect his professional obligations.

"I don't want to be a stay-at-home dad. Work is very important to me. I like to work. But I need my work to mean something to me in order for me to not be home with them," he revealed in an interview in Details magazine's October issue.

"Anytime you think, I'm wasting my time here,' the first thought you have is, I could go home and be with my kids. Now, you may go home and be with your kids and very quickly start thinking, I wonder what's on the work front?' "

Ben relies heavily on Jennifer's support to keep the household running optimally.

"I am not very present in the rest of my life. My wife's very patient. She does everything," he explained.
