(Cover) - EN Movies - Ben Stiller will write and direct the remake The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
The Hollywood funnyman was reported to be in talks to star in the new version of the 1947 comedy earlier this year. However, Ben won't only appear in the film, which charts the exploits of a wild fantasist, but will direct as well. Ben's other directorial offerings are Tropic Thunder, Zoolander, The Cable Guy and Reality Bites.
Previously, directors like Steven Spielberg and Ron Howard had been linked to the classic film, which starred Danny Kaye as the shy magazine proof-reader who lives in a fantasy world. Jim Carrey and Mike Myers have also been linked to the picture at different time.
Filming will begin in January 2012 from a script by Steve Conrad. His other credits include The Pursuit of Happyness.
Ben will be next seen in Brett Ratner's action caper Tower Heist alongside Eddie Murphy and Casey Affleck. (C) Cover Media
