(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Benicio del Toro has likened Blake Lively's saliva to fried chicken.

The 45-year-old actor stars alongside the pretty blonde in thriller Savages, which sees Blake's character O get kidnapped by a Mexican drug cartel.

In one graphic scene O spits in the face of Benicio's character Lado, who is keeping her captive. In response, he wipes the saliva off his face and licks his fingers afterwards.

"Sometimes they do use fake saliva, but I think it was her real spit! I decided to do that scene on the spur of the moment. The same way you [lick your fingers] when you eat fried chicken I guess," he laughed to Australian radio hosts Kyle and Jackie O.

Benicio stars alongside John Travolta in the exciting action movie.

The actor thoroughly enjoyed the process, even experiencing a "brotherhood" with John.

"Working with someone like John Travolta is a lot of fun, because there is this sense of, Let's get through this together.' There is a sense of brotherhood," he explained.
