Singer-musician Bhavatharini, daughter of maestro Ilaiyaraaja, had earlier composed music for Bollywood movies such as 'Mitr My Friend', 'Phir Milenge' and 'Geeya Geeya', apart from her streak of Kollywood films. 

After a break, she is now composing music for a Tamil film, titled 'Vellachi'. Popular comedian Paandu's son Pintu is playing the lead in 'Vellachi'.

The film is set in a village and Bhavatharini is said to have created beautiful songs for the movie. "Her music will be one of the biggest highlights of the movie," said father and legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja.

Bhavatharini was awarded the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer in 2001 for her rendition of the song 'Mayil Pola Ponnu Onnu...' composed by her father Ilaiyaraaja, for the film 'Bharathi'.
