Paltan's new still brings back JP Dutta's 'Border' feel

2nd August 2018

It is J.P.Dutta's upcoming war film 'Paltan' and the patriotism wave has just stuck the audiences with its first look poster that has Jackie Shroff, Sonu Sood, Arjun Rampal, Harshvardhan Rane, Siddhanth Kapoor, Luv Sinha and Gurmeet Chaudhary as the Army men and the pride of our nation.

Now the new still of the film is given away by the makers and it just gets us the 1997 hit film Border's nostalgia as if the film is remade. The new still has Sonu Sood leading the battalion ahead of every one followed by officers played by Arjun Rampal, Harshvardhan Rane and Gurmeet Chaudhary with the entire troops moving focused in one direction snapped in an authentic war-like desert zone area. A serene sentiment of patriotism is what we are left with after watching this new still.

Paltan is based on the Nathu La military clashes of 1967 which took place along the Sikkim border, Paltan tells the story of the Indian armed forces facing off in an intense battle to ward off Chinese infiltration. With the film, Dutta is returning to direction after a gap of 12 years. He had last directed the 2006 period drama 'Umrao Jaan' starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan. Presented by Zee Studios and produced by JP Dutta Films, this war-drama is slated to hit the silver screen on September 7.
