September 16, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The 57th National Film Awards was announced on Wednesday and Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has turned third time luck as expected by many. Big B has been honored with his third National Award for his outstanding performance in 2009 movie Paa.
Earlier, Amitabh Bachchan bagged the National Film Awards for 1990 film Agneepath and 2005 movie Black by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. There is a double celebration at the Bachchan house as Abhishek Bachchan has also received the National Film Award even though as a producer of Paa.
Abhishek Bachchan, who played father of his real life father in Paa is very excited about this achievement. He shared his feeling on his Twitter page saying that he is feeling like a proud father as his son has just bagged the National Film Award for his performance in Paa.
Adding to this, he informed that Paa has bagged four National Awards so he is going off for a monkey dance like Auro. Actress Bipasha Basu also congratulated Big B for his most deserving National Award.
Apart from this, the best film award was won by Malayalam movie Kutty Srank and Aamir Khan Starrer 3 Idiots got the best popular film award for offering the wholesome entertainment.
Bengali filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh received the National Award for best director for his movie Abohoman. Bengali actress Ananya Chatterjee won the best actress award for the same film.
Veteran actor Farooq Sheikh won the best supporting actor award for his performance in the film Lahore. The best supporting actress award again went to Paa actress Arundhati Nag.
