(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Brad Pitt says he is "scared to death" of anything happening to his children.
The Hollywood star raises six kids with his long-time partner Angelina Jolie and he is a devoted father. Brad confesses his life has changed since he started a family and he constantly worries about the welfare of his loved ones.
"It's changed everything. I'm scared of death, sure, aren't we all?" he replied when asked by British newspaper The Sun what impact raising kids has had on him. "Who's not? I mean, I don't want to go just yet but it is a reality we all live with. And it's something I'm more concerned with being a father and I'm more concerned with being safe and that they're safe.
"In fact, it's my only fear - where I used to be more concerned with myself, now I don't give a sh*t. I just want to make sure everyone's OK."
Brad and Angelina who raise adopted children Maddox, nine, Pax, seven, and Zahara, six as well as their biological kids Shiloh, four and two-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne famously enjoy a "nomadic" existence and enjoy visiting different parts of the world. The couple share one of the strongest relationships in Hollywood and always make sure that one person is free to look after their brood if the other one is working. Brad, 47, loves having his family accompany him to movie sets and has joked that spending time in different places has made Angelina, 35, an expert at packing suitcases.
"We're quite comfortable living out of suitcases, we're quite nomadic. The kids have to carry their backpack and if they forget it, they forget it - because there's just too much to keep track of," he explained. "Mom's really good at the packing. She's militant, she's really, really talented. I couldn't do it. We have a base camp in L.A. and we're trying to establish a base camp in France which can be a hub for going to other places in the world.
"But they're quite used to it. We try to travel at night so they sleep because it's really difficult for everyone to be awake and the chaos that ensues."
Brad also revealed his children still don't really understand what their parents do for a living. Although they are aware that mom and dad have hectic work schedules, they haven't grasped the concept of their fame and success. Brad says having kids has made him more determined to make good movies because he wants his family to be proud of him when they do finally get to grips with his career.
"They know mom and dad tell stories and make movies but they don't really know what it is because they haven't seen it and they're not impressed by it," he smiled. "It's just what mom and dad do and it's a bummer when mom's got to go to work, you know, or when dad's got to go to work. Becoming a father certainly changed the way I choose films because I'm very aware they are going to see them one day.
"I want them to be proud of their dad in the end, when they grow up and figure out what we actually do for a living." (C) Cover Media
