(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Bruce Springsteen found it difficult to eat in fancy restaurants when he first became famous as he was so intimidated.

The American singer had a modest upbringing, with his parents finding it hard to make enough money to care for him and his siblings. That meant Bruce rarely had nights out as a child and teenager, so he was totally unprepared when he became successful in the music business.

There was no going out on Saturday night. I was never in a restaurant until I had a record contract. I was 27 years old and Id still be intimidated by the guy on the door at the Steak and Ale. You want a table? I dont know. Do I deserve one? he explained.

Bruce has now got used to his celebrity status. He has three kids with his wife Patti, and copes by keeping things normal. He always makes his family breakfast, and then does some exercise during the rest of the day and works on his music.

His children Evan James, Jessica Rae and Sam dont think of him as being famous, which he says helps keep him grounded.

No they dont listen to my music. Why would they do that? For your kids, its the least important thing about you, he told British newspaper The Times. Its just your job and its actually invasive and intrusive on their lives, I find. They just need you to be dad. They dont need you to be anything a whole lot more than that.
