Bryce Dallas Howard thinks it's "gross" that she's named after the place where she was conceived.
The actress' father Ron Howard decided it would be a good idea to give his children unusual names. He settled on using the place where each of them began their journey into the world, for Bryce it was Dallas. Her twin sisters Jocelyn and Paige both got the moniker Carlyle, after the famous New York City hotel.
"It's completely gross. Thanks, Dad," Bryce laughed to New York Post.
The actress is currently expecting her second child with her husband Seth Gabel. They already have four-year-old Theo together, and have no plans to resurrect the family tradition.
Ron and his wife Cheryl also have son Reed. He missed out on the middle name ritual, with his parents opting for Cross. Ron has previously joked they went with that because calling their child "Volvo" seemed unfair.
Bryce has previously admitting finding motherhood hard after she had Theo. She suffered from post natal depression for 18 months after he was born and couldn't bear to be around her child.
"It was so weird because he was born and it was just like this wave of nothingness," she said.
"It was like the further again, a terrible thing to admit but the further away he was from me, the more normal I felt."
