(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Bryce Dallas Howard has opened up about the severe post natal depression she suffered after the birth of her first baby.
The actress said she suffered with it for 18 months and admitted that she felt more "normal" the further away from her son Theo, four, that she was.
The 30-year-old is expecting her second child with husband Seth Gabel and shared that she had unexpected feelings towards her child.
She told Sharon Osbourne on The Talk chat show of how she dealt with the troubling time in her life and how she overcame it.
"It was so weird because he was born and it was just like this wave of nothingness," the Twilight star said.
"It was like the further again, a terrible thing to admit but the further away he was from me, the more normal I felt.
"It was like the closer in proximity I got to him I just started to get sucked into this kind of really dark place. I mean it was insidious. It was horrible."
Bryce said she sought help and began to feel better after undergoing homeopathic treatment but admits that she worries that the depression will return when she has her second child.
The actress is the daughter of director Ron Howard, who made his name in cult television classic Happy Days. (C) Cover Media
