Buddhadeb Dasgupta all set to make a sleuth movie

15th September 2010

September 15, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Veteran film director Buddhadeb Dasgupta is all set to start his next film that will start as a thriller and then take a completely different turn altogether. Speaking about the subject of his film Buddhadeb said that the movie is about a private investigator that finally breaks out from the shackles of consumerism and competition. The working title of the movie is 'Anwar Er Aschorjo kahini' ("The Strange Tale of Anwar"). The veteran filmmaker explains that his movie is about the choices that people make in their life and how things would be without those hard decisions.

When asked if he took inspiration from the latest string of Bengali sleuth movies, the director said that his film is unique because it does not solve any crime. The director was inquisitive about the life of the smalltime detectives who work in Kolkata.

The shooting for the upcoming film will commence from November 1, although the director has not found a 35-yeard-old actor suitable to play the male lead he might cast Indraneil Sengupta in the lead as well. Surprisingly the new movie will have no female lead in it, but this is a bold move for any film maker. The director is excited about his movie 'Janala' getting selected for the National Awards this year.

We wish Buddhadeb Dasgupta all the best for his upcoming projects and may his movie sweep the national Awards as well.
