(Cover) - EN Star Style - Carey Mulligan thinks fashion designers are brilliant at what they do.

The 25-year-old British actress is currently promoting romantic drama Never Let Me Go, where she portrays a young woman caught in a love triangle involving characters played by Andrew Garfield and Keira Knightley.

Carey has becoming something of a style icon since her rise to international fame in 2009, and says gracing the red carpet in Chanel gowns is a definite bonus, although she doesnt focus too much on what is in fashion.

I love clothes... I dont take an active interest and go to fashion shows or anything, she told Stylist.

Not because I dont think they are all brilliant at what they do, but I really dont mind what I wear as long as its sort of knee-length.

Despite not being much of a fashionista, Carey concedes that she has become more aware of the industry since becoming a celebrity. One of the greatest advantages of this has been gaining an insight into the craftsmanship behind haute couture gowns.

"In a way I have a much better understanding of the artistry involved in designing clothes than I did two years ago but I don't follow fashion all the time," added the beauty. (C) Cover Media
