26th September 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Carrie Underwood says that being a newlywed is much better than she had been warned.

The 28-year-old was told that the first year of her marriage would be rough but insists that it hasn't been the case at all.

Carrie wed NHL player Mike Fisher last July and told People magazine that being a married woman has been great.

"Everyone says the first month is the hardest, or the fourth month or the eighth month," she shared but added that they were "just enjoying it".

With the Grammy winner's touring schedule and Mike's busy sports career she says that it has just been, "go, go, go".

"You never really get to stop and smell the roses and really enjoy just being a person," she admitted.

The American Idol winner performed at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas over the weekend which she said was an "amazing" experience to cap off a wonderful year of being a newlywed.

"When you reflect on everything, it's really nice," she said. "And I've had that chance this year."

But Carrie says that she and her husband are not planning on starting a family any time soon

"I'm good on the kid front right now," she told E! Online. "Mike and I are both so busy. We want to do what's best for us and for our future children. Anytime within the next few years would just be bad."

They have also not agreed on how many children they want to have once they are ready to start a family.

"I say two, but he grew up in a family of four," Carrie shared. "I just don't know if I can do that. I would probably want to pull my hair out." (C) Cover Media
