Casino Jack Maker George Hickenlooper Passes Away

George Hickenlooper passed away at 47 and was found dead in Denvers Uptown apartment on the morning of Saturday, October 30. The filmmaker was in Denver to screen his latest film Casino Jack at the Starz Denver Film Festival on Thursday, which stars Kevin Spacey.

The Denver police was called in by the residents of East 22 Avenues apartment when around 8 A.M. they failed to wake Hickenlooper. The LA based filmmaker was also cousin of the Denver Mayor, John Hickenlooper. His sudden death is believed to be of natural causes and no foul play has been suggested to be involved in the death of the film director.

This unexpected death of Georges has not only shocked his family but friends and associates too. The Mayor of Denver has issued an official statement on Saturday around 3 PM. that George was a film director with immense creative talents and was an important part to his friends and family.

Hickenlooper started his career as filmmaker in 1988, won an Emmy for Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmakers Apocalypse in 1992. The man was never shy of talking out loud about the difficulties he faced while making the film Factory Girl a biopic on Edie Sedgwick.

Casino Jack has been touted to be the most impressive film in George Hickenloopers career and have already received great reviews. The 47-year-old director is survived by his parents, wife Suzanne and son Charlie.
