While the whole country is waiting to cast their vote during the Lok Sabha Elections, Bollywood celebrities will be in America attending an award function.
The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards which are held in a different country every year, are being hosted in America between April 24 to 26 this year. But April 24 happens to be Election Day in Mumbai.
Some of the biggest actors of B-Town are expected to attend the event, which makes it clear that those attending it will not be available in the country to cast their vote.
While Farhan Akhtar and Shahid Kapoor are going to host the event, Hrithik Roshan was in news for his nomination as Best Actor for 'Krishh 3'. Apart from that, Hrithik is also going to perform live for the audience.
Priyanka Chopra, Madhuri Dixit, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Ranveer Singh, Malaika Arora Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Bipasha Basu are some of the other B-Town A-listers performing at the awards ceremony.
Deepika Padukone has three nominations for Best Performance in a Leading Role. Some of the other nominees are Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra, Anupam Kher, Ranbir Kapoor, Kalki Koechlin, Riteish Deshmukh, etc.
It is surprising to see that actors who are a role model to many in our country are themselves not going to cast their vote.
However, it remains to be seen if any of these celebrities choose to cast their vote before heading to Tampa Bay.
