(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Charlie Sheen has discussed the day his then-fiance Kelly Preston was shot, claiming it was an accident he had nothing to do with.

The two stars were briefly engaged in 1990, but the romance ended after Kelly was shot in the arm. Ever since there has been speculation about what actually happened and Charlie has now decided to talk about it.

The troubled actor is currently completing his stand-up tour The Torpedo Of Truth/ Defeat Is Not An Option, and while in Vancouver he brought the topic up. He alleges he was making coffee one morning when he heard a gunshot and immediately feared the worse.

I thought she was still asleep upstairs. And I heard a f**king gunshot go off. I thought, She did it, she finally f**king did it. She killed herself and theyre going to f**king blame me, he said.

I come around the corner and theres naked Kelly Preston at the top of the stairs, holding her wrist, staring at me, covered in blood and I thought, thats pretty f**king hot I didnt, I didnt.

Charlie then tried to ascertain what had happened. He claims Kelly picked up a pair of his trousers which hed left on the floor, accidentally causing a small gun he had in the pocket to fire. The bullet hit the toilet, and shrapnel then cascaded into her arm.

The actor still doesnt really understand how it happened, claiming its something hes been amazed by ever since.

The oddest moment when I picked up the phone, I looked at the phone, completely perplexed, and I didnt know whether to call 911 [emergency] or 411 [information], Charlie said. But for years people thought there was always this conversation, this discussion about the time I tried to kill Kelly Preston.

Kelly hasnt commented on Charlies claims. (C) Cover Media
